Reviving the folk music tradition in Ottawa: Irene’s Pub presents The Sunday Night Revue

Ottawa, ON, February 6th – The Sunday Night Revue features local folk musicians Birdie Whyte, Sonny Aiken, C.A. Jackson, Sal Valley, and Marc Albert. The weekly show offers an ever growing catalog of traditional and original songs performed in various ensembles by the musicians—singing in harmony, playing acoustic guitars, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and harmonica. Join them every Sunday from 8:30 until midnight at Irene’s Pub, 885 Bank Street.

Birdie Whyte, a longtime Ottawa performer, hosts the show, tells jokes, and gives away amusing prizes. There is no cover charge, however, the audience is encouraged to contribute to the tip jar.

The acoustic music tradition is alive and well and The Sunday Night Revue brings it into the limelight.
